CHALLENGE: To discourage Singaporeans from wasting food by highlighting the fact that there are still families who suffer from food insecurity in Singapore.

IDEA:

In Singaporean families, it’s a cultural habit to tell someone to “eat more” as an expression of love. But it is also this behaviour of “eating more” that causes families to have too much food on the table, leading to food wastage.

 

Through a series of top-down dining table shots, we show different families coming together for meals, whilst telling one another to “eat more”. As they reach out for the dishes on their respective tables, the film shows that the amount of food gets less and less with each family. The film finally reveals the unfortunate fact that for some families, “more” is not an option.
